I LOVE YOU!

Well, today is the St. Valentine's Day (I maintain that little "St." thank you very much). I really hadn't been much ado about anything for today. No, I don't have a "Valentine" for this year, or any year before it for that matter. And no, I'm not looking for a sympathy love.

I just find it strange that there's really kind of a split between people as to their reactions today. The first group are the ones that wear all red, pink, and white with little hearts all over their clothes. They flit about all day long repeating to every person they see what a great day today is and how they love Valentine's Day. Yes, they can be sickening, but I suppose they have a right to be happy. The second group is the one that wears nothing but black today. They curse (sometimes literally) the people in the first group. These Anti-Valentines despise the idea and you can often hear them mumble "yeah, whatever" under their breath when someone greets them with a "Happy Valentine's Day!"

So where do I fall in these groups. Well, I suppose I fall in the middle. Go figure, I don't choose a side again. I wouldn't call it fence sitting exactly, but I don't really have either one of these attributes.

It just kind of hit me now what the one chick from Real World: New Orleans said. "You don't have to have a lover on Valentine's Day, just love." I took a look around campus today on my usual jot-abouts. There really was something different in the air. Everyone seemed to be in a generally good mood, despite the fact that it was raining and we're supposed to have roads ready for the ice capades tonight. Even the people that work at the Bursar's Office seemed in a good mood, and trust me, this never happens

So to close out my special St. Valentine's Day ramblings, I ask you to do one thing for me. Look around you today and count how many people you love. No, I don't mean gushy, kiss kiss love, I mean your friends, your parents, your significant others, even your teachers dare I say. And if you truly love them (still not kiss kiss love) tell them. And for those of you that do have someone today, congratulations, a curse upon your heads ::spit spit::
